Workshop: Leveraging Technology for Effective AoL Management
Conference This workshop will take place from 12:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Join us for a hands-on workshop that will equip you with the skills and knowledge to leverage technology in your assessment and AoL processes. Attendees will learn how technology can be applied to curriculum mapping and creating AoL dashboards.
Through practical exercises and real-world examples, you will learn how to effectively use technology to:
- Visualize and analyze data: Explore the power of technology, with a focus on utilizing Tableau and PowerBI to create insightful visualizations that help you identify gaps, strengths, and trends in your curriculum.
- Create high-impact graphics: Learn how to design visually appealing and informative graphics that effectively communicate curriculum mapping data to faculty, department heads, and assessment committees.
- Improve curriculum alignment: Gain practical strategies for using technology to enhance alignment between learning objectives, assessments, and curriculum components.

Facilitators
Leslie Frederick serves as the Associate Director of Academic Reporting for the Williams School at Washington and Lee University, where she has been since 2019. In this role, she manages the data collection, analysis, and visualization aspects of the Williams School's Assurance of Learning process. Leslie earned a graduate degree in music from Baylor University and also holds a bachelor's degree in education.
Ranida Harris is a Professor of Management Information Systems at Indiana University Southeast. She received her Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Florida State University and a Master of Accounting Sciences from Northern Illinois University. Her research interests include the effects of computer technologies on communication, performance, and decision making. She teaches business data analytics classes and serves as the AoL coordinator for the School of Business. She also serves on various assessment-related committees, both at the campus- and university-wide levels.
