Maximize your transition to associate dean through networking with other new associate deans and exploring topics that are essential to the administrative role. Create a personal vision and action plan and learn to navigate common administrative challenges through group interactions, breakout sessions, and expert facilitation.

Learn how to motivate people, prioritize and delegate tasks, navigate politics, and deal with adversity while maintaining your and your school’s integrity and achieving balance between the needs of the dean, students, faculty, and yourself.

Through group discussions, take an in-depth look into the role and responsibilities of the associate dean. Facilitators and panelists with extensive administrative leadership experience will provide unique insights into the challenges new associate deans face as well as the resources and methods to handle them.

Amit_DeokarAmit Deokar, Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell

Amit Deokar is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs & Accreditation at the Manning School of Business at UMass Lowell. In his role as Associate Dean, Dr. Deokar oversees the undergraduate program, working closely with the dean and the team of department chairs, faculty, program coordinator, and professional advisors. Deokar also supports the dean in maintaining 麻豆传媒高清 accreditation and program assessment efforts for the college. He coordinated the college’s previous CIR report, collaborating with faculty and staff. Prior to his role as Associate Dean, Dr. Deokar served as the Director of Assessment and the Department Chair for Operations & Information Systems. His area of expertise is in Management Information Systems, particularly in business analytics, AI/machine learning applications, and enterprise data management. He has delivered keynote talks on the advancement and adoption of Generative AI in higher education and businesses. Dr. Deokar received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona and has prior education in Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Victoria_ParkerVictoria Parker, Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics, University of New Hampshire

Victoria (Vicky) Parker has served as Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Faculty Administration at the University of New Hampshire’s Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics since October 2017. She leads the college’s graduate business programs, faculty development processes, accreditation activities, and champions the college’s DEI efforts. Prior to joining UNH, Vicky led and taught in graduate programs in healthcare management for over 15 years at Boston University’s School of Public Health and served as a commissioner for the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). Education includes A.B. Biology, Brown University, Ed.M., Harvard University, and D.B.A. Organizational Behavior, Boston University. She is also a past recipient of BUSPH’s highest teaching award (2012), and the teaching award of the Academy of Management’s Health Care Management Division (2013), and is a former division chair of AOM’s Health Care Management Division. Her research on organizational factors in healthcare delivery has been published in Health Services Research, Health Care Management Review, Medical Care, and several other journals.
